I was feeling pretty tired and lazy today and decided to order in for dinner. This crappy winter weather has really increased my cab expenditure and food ordered by delivery. The extra costs are justified by the completely irrational extreme temperatures. I decided to order from this deli down the street from my apartment, Sunny and Annie's. It has repeatedly come up with favorable reviews on Yelp when I'm searching for new places to try. I had to try their signature sandwich, the Pho Real, essentially a bowl of pho squished into a sandwich (minus the soup broth, of course.)

Filled with roast beef, basil, cilantro, tomatoes, avocado, bean sprouts, hoisin sauce and srircaha. |

It was so spicy, I had to eat faster to minimize the burning. |
At a mere $7, this was quite the filling meal. I am embarrassed to share that I was so engrossed in this sandwich, I failed to realize I dripped juices all over my couch--a la Carl's Jr. commercial style. What's the slogan? It's not good unless it gets all over the place? Even worse, simply sprayed Shout so the stains wouldn't set, but didn't attend to it until I devoured my entire sandwich. It is
that good. I'm so amazed by the creativity of this sandwich. Sure, pho is delicious, but who thought to put it in a sandwich?! I am so proud to be Vietnamese. No one can argue that Vietnamese food is simply delicious. :)
